SIT means Special Investigation Team. It is a separate investigative organization that is mandated to look into specific instances.

"The Special Investigation Teams or SIT are special teams consisting of police officers and Indian law enforcement, made up of individuals who have been trained to investigate serious criminal cases.

The SIT was established following the realization that the present agencies were not capable of conducting an adequate investigation into the situation.

Do you know the reason an investigation team is specially commissioned to be part of or contacted to assist if the organization in question isn't able conduct an appropriate investigation into the facts or circumstances, or in the event that a case is filed against prominent individuals who may influence an investigation by the current agency.

There's no provision in the constitution that defines the kinds of investigations that can be assigned to the investigation teams.

If an issue is brought before the tribunal, and the tribunal recognizes that the current agencies aren't heading towards the correct direction due to numerous factors, including corruption, bias, a lack of resources or ted tape... The court will assign a team to examine this issue and provide the court with an analysis.

Gujarat riot case and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots are two cases that are currently under investigation by SIT.

The team of special investigators is appointed by an Indian court called the Supreme Court of India or by the state government.

The team conducts an inquiry and creates a report for the judge. The report is then presented to the judge at the hearing.

It will then be reviewed through appeals.

The court has the ability to decide to accept or decline the report.

If the report of the investigation is rejected or rejected in the case it is rejected, the appellate court must to decide the outcome of the case.

CBI is an executive division established in the Delhi Police special Establishment Act while SITs(Special Investigative Teams) are temporary bodies created from regular times to examine grievances or concerns. SITs are created by the Judiciary and also by the legislative or parliament from the government. They have the responsibility of deciding the case-by-case basis.

Eg. SIT for Black money as part in the RTI Act by Supreme Court.
